Regular FOG Meeting
October 7, 2025 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Guest speaker Megan Blackmore provides an in-depth look at the recent arrival of a troublesome pest. The Japanese Beetle has been spotted in Kamloops and recent restrictions have been placed on the movement of soil & plant material from some areas.

Megan graduated from the TRU Horticulture diploma program in 2018 and currently works as a Learning Coordinator with the Invasive Species Council of BC. Her role is diverse but has lately been focused on developing and delivering training programs and leading the on-the-ground efforts for the Japanese Beetle response in Kamloops this year. Outside of work, she volunteers with a variety of environmental organizations, including Living Lakes Canada, Thompson-Shuswap Master Gardeners, TRU Friends of the Gardens, and the Kamloops Naturalist Club.
If you aren’t aware of this recent arrival, there’s also a bit more information on our blog. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL GARDENERS!
New members always welcome – to join, or just check out what we do, drop in at House 10 for any of our meetings.
