Barb is a biologist with a Master’s degree in Zoology, a nature lover, avid gardener, zinnia breeder, and seed farmer. After years of studying whale songs in the Pacific Northwest, she and her husband moved to a rural setting in interior BC. With a passion for gardening and a natural green thumb, she expanded her annual, perennial, and vegetable gardens, developing a fascination with saving and breeding seeds. This led her to create a zinnia breeding program and flower seed farm.

Barb finds that breeding flowers and farming their seeds fulfills her scientific curiosity and provides a beautiful medium for artistic expression. It allows her to work outdoors in nature, creating a world of beauty and wonder for her children. She hopes to share a piece of her paradise, and the joy it brings her and her family, through her seeds.
