Regular FOG Meeting

Guest speaker Shelaigh Garson is a Regenerative Land Designer and previous Food Sovereignty Coordinator for Skeetchestn and Tk’emlups te Secwepemc. Her topic will be “Local Food Systems and Indigenous Food Sovereignty”
Shelaigh is a certified garden, permaculture and regenerative land designer with 20 years experience designing gardens and growing food. She teaches Permaculture and land based learning in schools and communities in our region of the Secwepemculew. Through a powerpoint presentation she will showcase some of these community projects, programs and systems designs that are helping mitigate climate change, educate the youth, provide local food and social/economical development to these communities.
She has designed Food Forests, healing gardens, greenhouses, market gardens and community gardens, and is currently developing
programs and workshops for education, food production, processing, and distribution.
In her spare time she enjoys family, food, the arts entertainment… and her own garden!
